Shifu Rajesh Kumar (Dharma Name - Shi Yan Xiang) Is the founder of the Damo Shaolin Kung Fu School, India. He is the direct disciple of the venerable Abbot Shi Yongxin of the Songshan Shaolin Temple, in Henan Province, China making him a 34th Generation Shaolin Warrior Secular Disciple.
He has received tutelage in the Shaolin temple from the Late Shi Yan Zhuang (Chief Warrior Monk), Shi Yan Chan, Shi Yan Li and Shi Yan Jha. Who are all reputable masters.
He began his martial arts training at the tender age of ten. He has thus been able to specialise in numerous martial art forms including Karate, Wushu, Kungfu, Taichi and more. Shifu Rajesh Kumar has also been the direct disciple of Late Sensei T. K Rajan a pioneer of Japanese Shotokan Karate in India.
In his Martial arts teaching career spanning four decades, Shifu Kumar has developed his own style of teaching incorporating methods motivated by his own learnings from the ‘Akhrara’ (a place for training of Indian martial artists) and bodybuilding techniques. He continuously improvises, evolves and simplifies the methods to suit all body types. Shifu Rajesh Kumar’s methods focus on an overall skill and personal development of his students.
Shifu Rajesh Kumar has been personally trained by Grandmaster Alberto Dacayana Jr. in Dacayana Eskrima System. He currently holds the title of Master.
