The Dacayana System of Eskrima was founded by Grandmaster Alberto 'Jun' Dacayana of Cebu City, Philippines.
The Dacayana System is an Indigenous Ce indigenous cebuano martial arts buano Martial Art and it is a complete Martial system. True to the Filipino tradition, it teaches the use of weapons as well as empty-hand training methods and techniques. The system is beautiful and unique because of its footwork. It's also very fast and powerful because of the training methods and emphasis on body mechanics.
The training methods and techniques are taught with a lot of respect, both for the art and for its application. The application of the Dacayana system is of crucial importance and focuses solely on defending oneself and trying not to hurt the attacker wherever possible.
The Dacayana system is accessible to all, young or old, male or female, beginner or advanced. It is also currently taught as part of the curriculum in schools in the Toledo region in the Philippines.
Headquartered in Cebu and Toledo in the Philippines, the Dacayana system is now for the first time in the asian subcontinent , India. It continues to grow in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United Arab Emirates.
